I have quite a bit of experience in rural community business. The sad truth is its getting harder and harder to survive there in traditional business. If its traditional you want then this question is unanswerable without a lot more detail.
My suggestion start an internet business which you can run from anywhere with broadband and a phone.

Oh I wish I had open land like that, I live in a city. There are huge govt subsidies going out right now for alternative energy. If you have a lot of wind, build the turbines and sell the energy, same goes with solar, etc.

you could also do smaller product based goods. Little wind turbines people can mount to their roofs. Any product like this will wind people’s electric meters backwards. You sell them a product that pays for itself, fight climate change and the evils of oil that have hurt our country so much.
