Looking to work from home. What are some legit companies to work for and actually make money?

Author: I am a stay at home mom of three children. I love staying at home with my children. Especially these days. you just don’t find that to often. Because the economy is so bad I need extra income. I want to work from home but I am unsure what to do and what really works. Does google payday work? Any idea of a work from home job that is legit and you can actually make some money doing it without working 24 hours a day? Also without investing money into a work from home company? Please Help!

There are a few legitimate data entry companies but are not hiring and have large waiting lists (1-2yrs). The majority of data entry jobs you seen online are scams. A real company will want you to have skills inc fast typing, may want you to know MS Excel, and will usually ask that you have high speed internet. Once in a long while you may found one online on a job website but thats rare.
If you do an advanced search on yahoo, you will find previous answers, sometimes the info on these is good as the info they gave is likely to have been verified if the answer was voted as ‘Best’.
Looking for legit work from home opportunities?
I would like to find a legit work from home opportunity. I’ve done yahoo searches but I just can’t seem to find anything that seems legit. I have 3 yrs of telemarketing experience and at least 1 yr of secretarial experience. It would be nice if I could find like an inbound telemarketing position from home or a data entry position from home. Does anyone know of any legit work from home opportunities? Are there any websites that list work from home opportunities?

I am currently unemployed. I always come across ads on craigslist, and careerbuilder, as well as other sites for work at home jobs. I know that the envelope stuffing gig is a scam but what about the clerical work, and data entry jobs. If anyone knows of any legitimate jobs where I can work from home, without paying astronomicals fees to start…Please respond.
http://safesurveysites.com Its what I do and it’s worked out pretty well. What you have to do is complete surveys and offers for companies that want the public’s opinion. No payment from you is ever required, not to sign up, not EVER.
The sites don’t get paid directly from you, but when you complete an offer or survey, they also get paid a small portion of what you earned yourself. For example, if you complete a survey about computers let’s say, you would earn maybe $2 and the web site itself would recieve $0.50 from the company also for getting you to complete the survey. These surveys take little time at all, most taking up less than even 1 or 2 minutes of your time.
They don’t need any information other than your name, email address and your home address. Yup, that is all. No credit card information, no banking information, nothing like that. All they require is your name and address so that your cheque can be sent to your home every month.

Hi. I am an engineering graduate in Electronics & communications engineering from JNTU, hyderabad with an aggregate of 80%. I have also done Diploma in Embedded system design in CDAC,Bangalore. Wanting to work from home I asked about legitimate work from home companies. Are there any?
Not so long ago I asked a question about how to market a work from home business. Many people wrote inviting me to do their program without answering my question. A stay at home mom with young children wrote letting me know what to look for and the company she worked for. I’d like to know more about legitimate companies. I don’t want rebates, putting things together, just honest companies that offer 401K plans and the ability to make money.
Why not start your own? Amazon and your local library’s business section will have at least a dozen books on home business ideas.
What are the best work from home offers that doesn’t require fees or me buying something?
I have been directed to so many at home work offers. But they all end the same, "to complete this offer for work from home please complete this offer my chosing one or more of the following. Once you have completed this offer you will recieve free information on work at home employment." I hate that. It says free but clearing its anything but.
The best home business that you can be sure is not a scam is one that you start yourself. It will depend on what you want, how you define to be interesting. A person may consider a pet sitting business to be the most exciting work in the world, while another person would rather watch TV than take care of dogs.
The key is to determine what your interests are, what you want to do, what is suitable for your lifestyle and your overall goals, and what can fit with your resources.
Dan Ramsey in his book "101 Best Home Businesses" has a chapter on how to find YOUR best home business. He suggests these 10 steps:

How difficult is it to work from home doing medical billing and coding?
I am studying through a online Institute for medical billing and coding. I actually want to be able to work from home so I can be with my three young children. Does anyone know how difficult it would be to do this type of work from home? Are there many medical groups that let "biller and coders" 
work from home?
Be careful on companies advertising online that they can do this for you. Often times you end up paying a fee, you are given some basic training info then you are off on your own to get your own customers. I would check into a community college, learn a skill like medical billing then market yourself directly to doctors and medical groups. Also, find somebody on line maybe through a forum and ask them how they got started. good luck
How can I find "real" work from home employment?
I am a finance professional but I have a 1 year old daughter and I really want to stay home with her. I hear so many people who work from home and I so need to stay home with my daughter. I am not looking for sales and that sort of thing. Please help!?!

Is there legit work from home opportunities in Australia?
There are so many jobs out there that claim you can earn all this money from working from home but they mostly sound quite dodgy.
Are there legit work from home jobs that do not revolve around selling, telemarketing etc?
