Seriously if you want to start a business selling stuff without spending any money at all your best bet may be Ebay and some of the other auction sites. Depending on your niche there may also be an auction or classified site that is very specific to the market you want to target so some searching is in order.

Has anyone ever found a work at home business on the internet?
I mean one that actually works and pays you? I know there are many out there–but I also know many are scams to get your money. I’d love to find a business I could do from home. The only training I have is nursing and also corrections–hardly internet business material! I’d prefer a legal business also!

Do I need to register my internet business as a foreign corporation?
I live in New York state, and am considering registering my business (internet – ad supported) as an LLC in Delaware. I don’t sell any products – I only provide online content. Would I need to register as a foreign LLC in New York? Am I considered to be "doing business" in New York if only my office is located here and all revenue is from internet ads?
There is no good reason for you to register your business in Delaware. There are certain tax advantages for LARGE firms who choose to register in Delaware, but since you are in New York State, the simplest thing to do is to register as a New York corporation.
By doing that, you will limit your paperwork to one state, not two, and if you have an S-Corp, or an LLC, you will have all the protections and benefits that you would if you registered in Delaware.

Does anyone know where do you go to find investors to see if they might be interested in investing in your business? I’m planning to start up a new internet business which I think is pretty unique but I’m not sure how to find investors who maybe could help with marketing it and getting it known.

If you need additional funding to get your idea developed, you have a long road ahead of you. This would involve creating a business plan and a basic website (which you can do yourself), and getting in touch with another organization that can help you track down angel investors who may be interested in your deal. This is difficult because without a "prototype" funding companies will take up your time looking at your deal, but will almost never invest. Some sneaky funding companies already have "portfolio" companies they’ve invested in, and they’re looking to you for a free education and trade secrets they can apply to their own business. This is not fair, but there is hardly anything you can do about it, since it is you that needs the funding and it is almost impossible to get a potential funder to sign a non-disclosure agreement.
If, on the other hand, you’ve already done a substantial amount of work on the product and/or website so you can begin promoting it, there are a ton of ways to get your website "noticed". How can I make my internet business a success?
I am thinking about starting up an internet business making and selling handmade cards – birthday, wedding, sympathy etc. I know there are a million and one other people doing this kind of thing, so how should I go about getting my site on the first page of a search engine? The key thing is finding the words that people will use to find your products.
If you choose the wrong words people will not find your site.
Once on site the, information needs to be easy to read, clear type and clean uncluttered backgrounds.
Use a digital camera to take photos and keep taking pictures of each item, until you are sure the pictures are in focus and show every detail. Make sure the background to each picture enhances the product.
When you are satisfied invite someone who is not computer literate to use the site. Listen to their problems and concerns change and improve.
